Fife’s first celebration of deaf culture, language and community takes place in Kirkcaldy this weekend.

A BSL Culture Day will be held at the Adam Smith Theatre and Kirkcaldy Galleries in Kirkcaldy on Saturday 1st March 2025, organised in collaboration between Fife Health and Social Care Partnership’s Deaf Communications service and ON Fife.

There will be a packed programme with BSL interpreters available throughout the day including:

  • Digital art created by deaf artists
  • BSL-guided tours of two new displays at Kirkcaldy Galleries
  • Cinema Screening of Power in Our Hands – a film which gives an inspiring look at the history of BSL
  • A selection of archived photographs curated by the Deaf Community, highlighting history and culture throughout the years
  • A BSL and deaf culture book display.

A full list of events and how to book can be found on the ON Fife website.
