A group of community nurses who have given 1437 combined years service to Fifers across two decades have been recognised for their dedication and commitment.

NHS Fife, Fife Health and Social Care Partnership and the Queen’s Nursing Institute Scotland (QNIS) celebrated 32 nurses at a recent Long Service Awards event.

All of the group recognised on the day have been registered nurses and worked in community roles for at least 21 years.

Lynn Barker, Director of Nursing, Fife Health and Social Care Partnership paid tribute to them and said: “We wanted to celebrate our community nurses in Fife who have given decades of dedicated service.

“Year after year community nurses support people across the Kingdom – in their homes, clinics and community hospitals and it was great to be able to recognise that dedicated service.

“I’d like to add my personal thanks to them for the work they have done and continue to do to help people in our communities.”
