Community alarm users are being advised of a brief 10 minute service interruption next week due to essential network upgrades.
Fife Health and Social Care Partnership has been advised by our network carrier essential upgrades will be carried out on Tuesday 9th June.
As part of this work, community alarms will be affected for a period of up to 10 minutes between 1 and 2 pm.
During that 10 minute period, alarm calls will not be received or responded to.
But anyone who requires emergency medical assistance during this time can still dial 999 as normal.
A spokesperson from Fife Health and Social Care Partnership said: “We have worked with the network operator to ensure the interruption to service is as short as possible.
“We recognise that despite the disruption only lasting 10 minutes, it may cause concern to some people who use the community alarm service.
“We would encourage family members, friends or carers to arrange for someone to check in on anyone concerned during the period of interruption to the service to help reassurance them.
“If anyone has any questions or concerns, please contact the Community Alarm team on 03451555551 and we will be happy to help.”
