As telecare services move from analogue to digital, Fife Health and Social Care Partnership is urging people to ensure they have a community alarm that’s fit for the future.

Older, analogue community alarms and systems, like the one pictured, are being phased out.

They need to be replaced for a new, digital community alarm to ensure continuity of service.

Fife Health and Social Care Partnership has been contacting people who use the service, but are reminding people once more to ensure their alarms are up to date.

Analogue telecare services will be phased out for new digital telecare services by 2027.

Anyone with an older community alarm will need to have it replaced and hand the old alarm back to the Partnership.

Chris Conroy, Head of Community Care Services said: “As part of the digital transformation, we are reminding people who use community alarms, their families or carers, to check the alarm is fit for the digital switch over.

“Replacing the older, analogue alarms ensures people can continue to get help quickly and safely if they need it.

“Anyone who needs to replace an analogue alarm or who even has an old analogue alarm that isn’t used anymore in their home can arrange to return it to us by calling the contact centre.”

Anyone who needs to return an old alarm can call 03451 55 55 51, or alternatively email swcommunityalarms.telecare@fife.gov.uk
