As part of our Small Steps to Connect campaign, people across Fife have been joining together to show how small actions can make a big impact in tackling loneliness. Staff, volunteers, and members of the public have already shared thoughtful personal pledges, simple commitments that help build stronger connections in everyday life.

Some have pledged to check in more often with a neighbour, while others have committed to taking time for a friendly chat with someone who may be feeling isolated. We’ve also heard from people planning to join local groups, pick up the phone to a colleague they don’t often speak with, or make space in their week to connect with family and friends.

These pledges highlight what the campaign is all about: recognising that meaningful connection doesn’t need to be complicated. Small, consistent moments of kindness can make a real difference to someone who may be feeling alone.

We’re grateful to everyone who has taken part so far. By taking these small steps together, we can help create a more connected, supportive Fife for everyone.

If you’d like to get involved or make your own pledge, visit our Small Steps to Connect campaign page to find out more.
