Your Voice in Action: Meeting Summaries

Our Summer 2026 in-person meeting took place in Dunfermline and provided another opportunity for members to meet, share experiences, and influence local developments.

Members discussed proposals relating to co-ordinated support services within the Dunfermline locality and provided feedback on a range of options being considered. Their views were shared with the locality team to help inform future decisions.

Members also had the opportunity to meet with the Service Manager for Primary and Preventative Care, ask questions about primary care services, and raise issues that were important to them. This open discussion gave members direct access to decision-makers and ensured that local concerns were heard and responded to.

At our Spring meetings, members heard how their earlier feedback had helped shape the final Strategic Plan.

Members also took part in discussions about identifying and supporting unpaid carers. They shared perspectives on how awareness could be improved and how people could be encouraged to recognise themselves as carers and access support.

These conversations provided valuable insights that helped inform awareness-raising activity across Fife.

Members continued to contribute to the development of the Fife Health and Social Care Partnership Strategic Plan by reviewing priorities that had emerged from the first phase of engagement.

The meetings also included discussions about Fife's seven localities and the different ways people could become involved in local conversations and decision-making. Members shared valuable ideas about how they would like to stay informed and connected to work happening in their communities. It was clear that members felt Locality Staff should join forum meetings to discuss relevant issues from across Fife and some members were interested in attending a meeting in their own locality to find out a bit more about the work that was taking place.

These discussions reinforced the importance of making engagement accessible and meaningful for people across Fife.

Our Summer meetings focused on the refresh of the Fife Health and Social Care Partnership Strategic Plan.

Members reviewed draft proposals and shared their views on how local people should be involved in shaping future priorities. Their feedback helped inform the wider engagement process that followed across Fife.

Members also learned about the role of the Integration Joint Board Public Representative and discussed the importance of ensuring that public voices continue to be represented in local decision-making.

As the Forum continued to develop, we introduced online meetings alongside our in-person sessions to create more opportunities for people to take part.

Members worked together to develop the Forum's Group Agreement, helping to create a positive and respectful environment for everyone. They also shared ideas for member newsletters and helped develop key messages to raise awareness of the Forum among local people and staff.

This was an important period where members helped shape how the Forum would work and communicate in the future.

Our first Forum meeting brought together people from across Fife who wanted to hear about the ways they could influence local health and social care services. Members learned about the purpose of the Forum and heard examples of how public involvement has helped shape services in the past.

The meeting included group discussions where people shared what mattered most to them, why they wanted to get involved, and what would help make the Forum welcoming and inclusive for future members. It was an opportunity for people to get to know one another and begin shaping the future of the Forum together.
